We got the opportunity to salvage 5000 tyvek maps from Dupont, and here they are, turned into something brand new! Tyvek is an amazing material - strong, tear-resistant, lightweight and machine washable. The map graphic is a reminder that we are trying to save the planet - using 100% salvage materials rather than new production to make useful things.
Like all our projects, this one started with discarded material on a large scale. As designers, we have a responsibility to use our skills for good, believing that good design has the potential to create great change. No new natural resources were used to make this bag, only creativity + imagination + a skilled LA-based production team. We love our work!
The finished bag is a durable, reversible, easy-to-use shopping bag, taking your grocery / farmer's market adventures to the next eco level.
