At Rewilder, we’re reshaping the world’s trash by transforming it into works of art.
Beautifully handcrafted in LA, these tote bags and zip pouches are carbon negative, vegan, and make use of the material from MOCA street-pole banners that would have otherwise filled up a landfill.
The craft of upcycling is highly sought after, but has been difficult to scale one-of-a-kind pieces made painstakingly by hand. That’s why MOCA partnered with us at Rewilder. They had a ton of these street banners that get used just for that concert series then get sent to a lifetime in the landfill. We don’t see banners bound for the landfill, we see beautiful, durable, high performance material that can be redesigned and transformed. So we set out to design something new.
Scenes from the studio: Our partnership with MOCA upcycled piles of banners and stitched them into one-of-a-kind tote bags and zip pouches. Hand made, no two are alike and each tell a unique piece of the MOCA story.
Each street-pole banner from MOCA’s Art For All campaign is individually cut, making every tote bag and zip pouch their own thing. We thoughtfully consider the original graphic art when we design our pieces, so the beauty of its first form is highlighted even after metamorphosis.
Each tote eliminates 300lbs of CO2, saving enough CO2 emissions to drive 326 miles in a passenger car, plant 6.25 trees or charge a smartphone every night for 54 years.
